Which do you consider to be the best "live" albums of all time? Here's twelve from my list to get you thinking. These are not necessarily my "Top 12", although they're all pretty damn good live recordings:

It's almost more orchestral than rock - but when they start cranking on something like Heart of the Sunrise, ya gotta stand up and take notice.
