Which do you consider to be the best "live" albums of all time? Here's twelve from my list to get you thinking. These are not necessarily my "Top 12", although they're all pretty damn good live recordings:

It's a DVD but I have to add Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (1972) and Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison (1968)

I know people may have a lot of issues about Yes, but Yessongs is an awesome live album with one of the most classic covers ever. It's almost more orchestral than rock - but when they start cranking on something like Heart of the Sunrise, ya gotta stand up and take notice. (Note that I'm only allowed to play it when my wife's not around. The dog likes it though.)

No one could/should ever laugh at your choice. It's a great one! I have the LP version myself. A great concert compilation - Buffalo Springfield, Big Brother, Hugh Masekela, Otis, Byrds, etc. - and 2 years before Woodstock, no less! - Dr. Rock

I been gone for awhile but now I'm back. Most people forget the classic Pink Floyd live album Delicate Sound of Thunder. Its got all the classic songs plus some older stuff. Of course I am biased. PF Fan

And as you can see in my 8/15/09 blog post, I think Rock Of Ages by The Band is one of the best live albums. Dr. Rock
